Postma & Postma rewind AC & DC motors, armatures and synchronous
motors for the industry.
Electric motors are dismantled, bearing areas on the rotor
or end plates are checked, compared to standards and repaired in house if
necessary.
See - Machining
Couplings,
pulleys and bearings are removed with hydraulic pullers.
A
growler test or MCA, is performed on squirrel cage motor rotors to ensure
the rotor bars are intact. Core loss testing is performed on the
stator and rotor cores to ensure the motor is still viable to repair.
New
bearings are fitted by means of induction heating.
We
rewind the stator and take the utmost care to ensure we rewind to original
specifications. Motor Circiut Analysis is performed on the stator
windings before they are varnished and cured.
See - Motor Circuit Analysis
Electric
motors above 180 frame are double varnished and cured in an oven with regulated
temperature control.
We dynamically balance the rotors, armatures and couplings.
See Dynamic Balancing
The motors are assembled and test run under no load
conditions. No load currents are checked and compared to standards. A frequency
analysis, of the motors, is done on our test bed.
