Optimal
Braking
For
applications that require reduced braking times or to stop high inertia loads,
traditional inverters use a Dynamic Braking scheme, where the excessive kinetic
energy regenerated to the DC Link is dissipated as heat in a dynamic braking
resistor connected to the drive.
The
CFW-09 Vector Modes incorporate the Optimal Braking feature, which allows a
sufficient braking performance to handle most applications that so far needed
dynamic braking.
This
innovation allows high dynamic performance drive systems with braking torques
of about 5 times of typical DC braking.
